A Good Samaritan picked up a young malnourished pit bull mix a few days ago. She's missing both of her ears, but Oklahoma City Animal Welfare said she's ready for a new home.
Animal welfare's Jon Gary said it's become popular for people to crop the ears of some breeds of dogs, but this a was a truly horrible job. However, he said once the little girl gets some good meals in her and she's cleared medically, she'll be ready for a new home.
“We get a lot of puppies especially this time of year that are in need. We're getting ready to hit our busy season. Spring time is huge for us here at the shelter, our intake increases dramatically,” he said.
He said the dog doesn't have a name, that will be up to her new owner. He said local partners like the Bella Foundation work hard to find dogs in need new homes.
