The heat is going to intensify over the next several days, but a pattern change is on the way for next week. In the meantime, above average temperatures will continue with very little opportunities for rain.
Wednesday night lows will drop into the mid-70s with a south breeze and mostly clear skies.
Thursday looks hot and humid with a south wind at 10 to 20 mph. There will be a slight opportunity for isolated showers and storms in far western Oklahoma by the afternoon hours. Any storms that do pop up will dissipate after sunset. The heat index will again range from 100 to 105 degrees.
Midweek next week, the ridge of high pressure begins to break down, and another storm system will try to move in from the west. This will bring in cooler temperatures and a few chances for rain and storms.
