Dallas Cowboys running back and former Oklahoma standout DeMarco Murray fractured his right ankle during Sunday's game against the New York Giants.
Murray's injury occurred in the first quarter while he was being tackled after an 8-yard run and twisted his ankle awkwardly.
He was down for several minutes before being helped off the field and taken for X-rays inside Cowboys Stadium.
After the game Dallas head coach Jason Garrett said it appears that Murray will be out the rest of the season.
Earlier this season, Murray set the franchise single-game rushing record in his first extended action game for Dallas. He entered Sunday's game with a team-best 872 yards rushing.
Dallas lost to New York after a last second field goal was blocked and the Giants won 37-34.
