NORMAN, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Sooners football squad, eager to get the season started, took the field for its first practice Thursday.
OU took the field at 6:45 a.m. in order to escape the high temperate that continue across Oklahoma.
The Sooners dressed in shorts, jerseys, cleats and helmets ran through drills and formations until about 9 a.m.
Temperatures during the first practice held steady in the mid 80's, a much cooler atmosphere for practice than in the afternoon when its forecast to be at least 108 degrees.
ESPN All-Access was on the field with the Sooners today shooting a special feature that will air Aug. 23 on ESPN.
The Sooners continue practice through the end of this week and this weekend.
Two-a-days begin Aug. 9 and continue through Aug. 17 with the university starting classes Aug. 22.
