Above normal temperatures are sticking around Green Country as we wrap up our weekend!
Cloudier skies will be sticking around eastern Oklahoma for the first half of our Sunday, but that won’t last all day. Areas of sunshine will eventually break out from north-to-south as we head into the afternoon hours. And temperatures will once again recover nicely, with highs in the upper 50s to a few low 60s! It’ll be another terrific day to get outside.
Monday will be a bit of a reverse of Sunday, as far as our cloud cover is concerned. We’ll start off our Monday sunny, but clouds will gradually thicken up from south-to-north by Monday afternoon as our next storm system approaches. But the above normal trend will continue with highs still easily reaching the upper 50s on Monday.
Cloud cover will thicken up a bit more on Tuesday, with the potential for some drizzle by late in the day. That increased cloud cover will keep us a few degrees cooler, but highs still look to reach the mid 50s on Tuesday. Some light rain showers are expected Wednesday as an upper-level trough quickly swings across the area. Those rain chances should move east of Green Country by early Thursday.
On the back side of that storm system, we’ll see the windy conditions return on Thursday with very strong northwesterly winds. But we don’t see any serious cold air arriving late in the week, with just a slow trend down towards the lower 50s for highs by week’s end. In fact, we don’t see any signs of a big cold blast or Arctic air anytime soon, so enjoy the mild weather while we’ve got it!
