Rogers County Sheriff's Office is investigating an apparent homicide Monday morning near Oologah. RCSO told News On 6 a 73-year-old woman was shot to death.
The woman lived in Tacora Hills, a neighborhood just off the dam at Oologah Lake.
Sheriff Walton said the victim's grandson found the 73-year-old woman shot and killed in her living room. He said the victim's body may have been in the home for some time, but he's not saying how long.
The grandson told deputies he and a friend had been fishing and they were stopping by her house.

Walton says deputies noticed some of the woman's drawers and belongings had been rummaged through, so he says it could've been some type of attempted robbery but that's one of many things still under investigation.
"We quickly develop opinions, but you know, we have to slow this down and methodically go through facts to learn what really occurred," he said.
Investigators surrounded the home with crime scene tape and took a statement from the grandson. Neighbors tell News On 6 woman lived in the home alone.
Deputies remain on scene and OSBI should arrived sometime soon. They are also waiting on the medical examiner.
The victim's name has not been released.
