Former Tulsa Deputy Settles With Woman He Victimized

A former Tulsa County deputy in prison for sexual battery agreed to a $300,000 settlement filed by the woman he was convicted of victimizing.

A judge sentenced Gerald Nuckolls to eight years in prison in November of 2015. A jury convicted Nuckolls a month before of sexual battery and indecent exposure while on duty.

He was convicted in an incident that took place while he responded to a 911 hang-up call in September, 2014. While investigating the call, he grabbed a woman's breast and exposed himself to her.

That woman sued Nuckolls and the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office. On Tuesday, Nuckolls agreed to a $300,000 judgment against him. The county agreed to a $25,000 settlement, too.

As a matter of policy, News On 6 does not name the victim's of sexual crimes.
