The City of Tulsa is on the verge of paying settlements in two lawsuits against the police department.
One case involves a claim of excessive force, the other, a claim of negligence that caused a traffic accident.
In that situation, a Tulsa police officer was on his way to a call, crashed into a motorcycle at an intersection, injuring two people.

They sued over significant injuries and the case went to court, where a jury ordered the city to pay $275,000, but there's a cap that means the city will only $175,000.
The other case, is a woman who was arrested after a traffic stop in 2012 and eventually convicted of misdemeanor assault and resisting arrest.
She sued, arguing the officer used excessive force by Tasing her when she wouldn't show her license or get out of the car - and it led to a fight where the officer claimed she was trying to get his gun.
The city is settling, reluctantly, according to city legal, for $55,000 to avoid the chance of a jury verdict that could be for more.
