Oklahoma firefighters saw how money they collect in the annual Fill the Boot campaign is put to use.
Dozens of firefighters from several departments, including Tulsa and Broken Arrow, volunteered at Camp Canyon on Wednesday. Camp Canyon is a camp for kids with muscular dystrophy.
They spent time playing games, some even were models for budding make-up artists.
"I think we probably have more fun than they do,” Tulsa Fire Union President Chad Miller said. “You know, firefighters are community servants really, and so, to get to spend a little time with this group that's so special to us and to the cause that we've supported for so long is really a blessing more to us than it is to them probably."
Firefighters from the McAlester area grilled a hot dog lunch for the campers and other volunteers.
