Crash Closes Highway 266 At The Verdigris River

Verdigris Police are investigating a car crash that shut down Highway 266 for more than three hours Tuesday morning.

Two vehicles collided head-on in a construction zone where 266 crosses the Verdigris River at about 7:40 a.m. The highway was closed until almost 11 o'clock.

Verdigris Police, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers and Verdigris firefighters shut down the highway so a medical helicopter could land to pick up one of the victims.

The authorities have not released any information about the victims or the cause of the crash.
