Tulsa women's soccer player Rachel Thun was named to the 2014 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Women's All-Northeast Region second team, as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
According to a news release from the university, Thun is a midfielder from Oklahoma City who started in 19 of 20 games as a true freshman. She had a team-leading eight goals and seven assists for 23 points, while attempting 56 shots for a 46.4 shots-on-goal percentage.
Thun had two goals against Central Arkansas and one each against Arkansas State, Missouri State, UMKC, Texas Tech, Temple and Cincinnati.
It's the ninth time a TU women's soccer player has been named to an NSCAA All-Region team.
She joins Amber Farr (1996, 1997), Paige Mayer (1996, 1997), Danielle Fauteux (2002) and Jordan O'Brien (2010, 2012, 2013) who were all tabbed to the NSCAA All-Central Region first, second or third teams.
