Horse Put Down After Wreck On Gilcrease Expressway

A horse had to be put down Wednesday morning after it was hurt by two vehicles on a North Tulsa highway.

It happened on the Gilcrease Expressway just east of Highway 75 at about 1 a.m.

A vehicle hit the horse while the animal was in one of the westbound lanes. As the horse was trying to get up another vehicle hit it.

One of the vehicles was a van carrying eight people. None of the people in the vehicles was hurt. 

Tulsa Police don't know how the horse made it into the road in the first place.
