Sapulpa Firefighters Battle Grass Fire

The Sapulpa Fire Department is fighting a grass fire near South 49th West Avenue and Edgewood Drive east of town. Firefighters were able to get the fire out before it reached nearby houses.

The fire is located north of Highway 117 and west of Highway 75. 

The National Weather Service in Tulsa reports north-northwest wind gusts of up to about 35 mph Friday afternoon.

Combined with the unseasonably warm temperatures, there is an enhanced fire danger until shortly after sunset.
