For the eighth year in a row, the University of Tulsa men's tennis team will host the ITA Men's All-American Tennis Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The 2012 edition will start on Saturday, September 29, with prequalify events and will run through Sunday, October 7.
The event, which marks the first national title of the 2012-13 college tennis campaign, will have more than 350 competitors vying for titles.
The tournament begins on Saturday, September 29 with the pre-qualifying singles events. The final 16 spots in singles and eight spots in doubles play will be up for grabs when qualifying matches end on Wednesday, October 3. On Thursday, October 4, the main draw begins as 64 singles players and 32 double teams look to be crowned tournament champions.
Singles quarterfinalists, doubles finalists and consolation champions will receive automatic entry into the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships Nov. 8-11 in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.
Those competing for Tulsa will be seniors Grant Ive (Qualifying Draw Singles, Main Draw Doubles) and Tristan Jackson (Qualifying Draw Singles, Main Draw Doubles), junior Japie De Klerk (Main Draw Singles), sophomore Alejandro Espejo (Qualifying Draw Singles), freshman Matt Kirby (Qualifying Draw Singles).
