We don't know much about this story. The event took place sometime in the summer of 1983 at Conrad Farms in Bixby.

Legendary farmer Chester Conrad had called in the experts from the Guinness Book of World Records because he thought he'd grown a record-setting watermelon.  

As reporter Susan Watson explains, he was right.
