SHAWNEE, Oklahoma – Southeast’s quick defense, coupled with Norman North’s offensive struggles, ended with the Spartans advancing in the Shawnee Shootout with a 48-40 win.
The Spartans led 21-18 at half, increasing that margin to five points after three quarters. Norman North were just two points shy of tying the game with seven minutes left to play, but the Timberwolves couldn’t overcome the potent Spartan defense. Southeast blocked three shots to preserve their lead down the stretch.
Southeast’s Trai Jordan led all scorers with 19 points, while teammate Rashawn Thomas finished with 13 points.
Senior Patrick Schaefer had a team high 11 points, the only Timberwolf to score in double figures. Fellow senor Matt Southard added seven points to Norman North’s final score.
