NORMAN, Okla. – The Associated Press reported Wednesday that Oklahoma is seeking pay raises for three assistant football coaches.
The OU Board of Regents is scheduled to meet Wednesday, and on its agenda is a request for raises for new co-offensive coordinators Josh Heupel and Jay Norvell as well as the Sooners’ newest assistant, Bruce Kittle.
If the regents approve, Heupel and Norvell will each be bumped up to an annual salary of $330,000. Last season, Heupel made $250,000 as quarterbacks coach, and Norvell made $255,000 as wide receivers coach. Both were promoted after former coordinator Kevin Wilson left to become head coach at Indiana.
Kittle was promoted from on-campus recruiting coordinator to tight ends and tackles coach, filling another position vacated by Wilson. Kittle will make $240,000 annually if the regents approve.
