TULSA, Oklahoma – Former Tulsa Golden Hurricane rebound-machine Jerome Jordan became the first TU player taken in the NBA Draft since Michael Ruffin in 1999 Thursday night. TheMilwaukee Buckstook Jordan in the second round with the44th overall pick, but a report by ESPN's Chris Sheridan surfaced Friday that the center could be traded to the New York Knicks.

Sheridan claims the deal hinges on the whether or not Corey Maggette will pass his physical in Milwaukee.

Until the move is officially decided and announced, Jordan remains with the Bucks and will joinAndrew Bogut, Brandon JenningsandJohn Salmonsin the Brew City.

“I hope Jerome certainly goes as high as he can due to his height,” Tulsa head coach Doug Wojcik said earlier in the week. “It’d be awesome if it was in the first round, and it may be because he’s seven foot tall and has a 7-foot-5 wing span. He could go that high.”

Jordan impressed scouts with his length in pre-draft workouts. He dominated on the defensive end of the floor in college, swatting 333 shots, a Tulsa and Conference USA record. Wojcik called Jordan’s skill set unique.

“I just don’t think you find seven footers with (the ability to shoot with) a left hand and a right hand. He really can face the basket and shoot from 3-point range.”

Jordan joins a franchise that finished46-36 in the Eastern Conference last season.

Jordan will bring somemore punchon the glass to a team that already dominates in the paint. The Bucks ranked third in the conference last season in rebounding with 43 boards per game. Jordan pulled down over nine rebounds per game as a senior and finished second in Tulsa history with 983 rebounds.

Jordan is the 26th player to be drafted from the University of Tulsa.
