What you need to know?
The Thunder is looking for its fifth-straight win as it begins a three-game road trip. Oklahoma City first travels to Golden State, a team they beat last Sunday, 112-104. While the Thunder may seem like momentum is to its advantage, head coach Scott Brooks reminded his team to not underestimate the Warriors on their home court. Golden State will likely be playing for vengeance and are 9-13 at home. They’ll be playing without Anthony Randolph, who will likely miss the remainder of the season after suffering an ankle injury.
Who to watch?
The Thunder’s Kevin Durant could reach his 24th game in which he scores at least 25 points. He leads the team in points, rebounds and steals, and has proven himself to be a vital part of the team’s lineup. He scored 45 points against the Warriors in the Jan. 30 matchup. Teammate Russell Westbrook is also shooting hot, coming off an impressive 26-point game against New Orleans. He put up eight points and eight assists in the Thunder’s win over the Warriors.
Golden State will try to answer back offensively with Monta Ellis, who currently ranks sixth in the league, averaging 26.5 points per game. He’s coming off a career-high 46-point game against the Mavs, but only finished with 25 points against the Thunder in the teams’ last meeting.
