TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa Drillers, and their Major League club the Colorado Rockies, announced today that Ron Gideon will return as the Drillers manager this season.

Gideon replaced Stu Cole as the manager of the Drillers in May when Cole was promoted to the Rockies Triple A club, the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. After moving into the dugout, Gideon helped lead the Drillers to a 50-44 record in his time as a manager, but failed to gain a berth in the Texas League playoffs.

Rejoining the squad along with Gideon are hitting coach Dave Hajek, pitching coach Bryan Harvey and trainer Austin O’Shea.
