TULSA, Oklahoma -- A group of Oklahoma broadcasters will set up on a Tulsa street corner to collect cash donations for the Tulsa Area Red Cross. The effort is in response to the devastating tornadoes in Joplin and Central Oklahoma.

Take cash donations to the southwest corner of 71st and Yale on Thursday, May 26 to aid in relief efforts. The drive is sponsored by Cox Media Group and Perry Publishing and Broadcasting.

"The Red Cross is currently asking that individuals focus on cash and blood donations if they wish to help at this early stage in the game," said Cox Media marketing director Kim Dallow.

"As progress is made in their efforts to restore in and around the affected areas, they will be able to switch gears and accept supplies and other hard goods."
