TULSA, Oklahoma -- It took Tulsa Fire a few minutes to reach a pickup truck fire inside the OSU Medical Center's parking garage near 7th and Houston Friday, but once they did, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire rather quickly.
The pickup truck fire was reported shortly after 7:15 a.m. on the second level of the parking garage.
Because of clearance issues, firefighters had to drag a hose from a pumper truck parked at an entrance ramp to where the pickup truck was on fire.
A vehicle parked nearby was scorched by the fire.
The driver of the pickup truck had just come to work and burned his hands trying to get some clothes out of the vehicle while it was on fire.
He walked into the hospital's emergency room, where he was treated for his burns.
The pickup truck was a total loss.
