TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa commuters slipped and slid their way through the downtown intersection of 11th Street and Elgin Avenue Thursday morning. The intersection goes up a slight hill in front of the Mazzio's and Lyons Indian Store – just enough of an incline to cause trouble for drivers who had to stop for the light.
The sound of spinning wheels was heard until city crews could get sand to the intersection.

An earlier crash occurred around midnight on the Broken Arrow Expressway near Mingo. Tulsa Police say a Porsche was headed east on the Broken Arrow Expressway when the driver lost control because of the slick roads and started sliding sideways.
