Lawton, OK -- About 90 soldiers from a Fort Sill-based battalion have returned home in time for Thanksgiving after being deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

A welcoming ceremony was held Monday for the soldiers with the 100th Brigade Support Battalion. The battalion's headquarters company was among the first Army units to deploy to Afghanistan from Iraq.

The soldiers were deployed for about a year and helped build a logistics base in Afghanistan's Helmand Province that supports the Marines and the 82nd Airborne Division.

The homecoming ceremony was delayed for about five hours Monday because of heavy fog in Oklahoma.
