TULSA, OK -- Two people were shot, one fatally, Wednesday afternoon in separate shooting incidents, only a few blocks apart.

The first shooting happened at 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Birmingham and Tecumseh.

Tulsa Police say gunfire was exchanged inside a black Thunderbird.  Authorities say the victim, 20-year-old Ryan Jones was in the back seat and was shot by 18-year-old Michael Dorsey.

Jones was taken to a Tulsa hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say Dorsey and Antwone Hankins abandoned the Thunderbird and took off running.

Dorsey was arrested Wednesday evening and booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of first degree murder and shooting with intent to kill.

Hankins was also questioned by police, but not arrested.

This all happened in front of kids who were walking home after school.

"Really tragic that school has recently let out.  There's a school less than half a mile from here. Just goes to show that when people are desperate and in a criminal state of mind, nothing else matters," said Cpl. David Crow, Tulsa Police.

Only an hour and a half later, and only several blocks away, another shooting took place, this time in a crowded shopping center parking lot at Pine and Lewis.

Police say it was not related to the incident at Tecumseh and Birmingham.

"Extremely coincidental, but I believe at this point, it's being considered just a coincidence," said Sgt. Michael Brown, Tulsa Police.

Tulsa Police say the second shooting happened after a fight broke out among several women. Investigators say 28-year-old Princess Greene was shot in the forehead.

Greene was taken to a Tulsa hospital.  Police say her injury was not life-threatening.

In this shooting, police say the shooter was 20-year-old Samantha Richardson.

Witnesses told police officers, Greene and her companions were the aggressors and Richardson and her two friends expressed a fear of suffering great bodily harm as the incident unfolded.

No arrests has been made at this time.

Police say their report on the second incident will be turned over to the Tulsa County DA's office for review.
