TULSA, OK -- Two people are being treated for injuries suffered after their vehicle slammed into the post of a traffic light.
The collision happened at about 1:40 a.m. Saturday in the 4300 block of South Mingo.
Officers with the Tulsa Police Department say the driver lost control of his vehicle and hit the center median, which caused a flat tire. The vehicle then spun and hit the traffic light post.
Corporal Solomon of the Tulsa Police Department said it is believed the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated.
"We did find a six-pack of beer inside the vehicle and also a bottle of liquor inside the vehicle," said Solomon. "We don't know for sure if they were drinking it at the time of the collision, but we did find it inside."
Solomon said officers also smelled alcohol on the driver's breath.
The passenger in the vehicle was quickly taken to a Tulsa hospital.
The driver was pinned inside the vehicle. It took crews about 45 minutes to free him.
Their conditions are unknown at this time, but officers believe they were transported in critical condition.
The Tulsa Police Department, Tulsa Fire Department and EMSA responded to the scene.
