Man Becomes 40 Gallon Hero

A Tulsa man is recognized by The American Red Cross.   Darwin Eaton is now a Red Cross 40 Gallon Hero.

He has donated 40 gallons of blood over the years.

"When I hit 35 they went down to Home Depot and had em pull off 35 one-gallon cans of paint and take a picture," said Darwin Eaton.

Eaton, who donated again on Thursday, says he started giving blood when the blood center on East 11th Street first opened back in 1949.
