A Braggs woman will likely spend the rest of her life in prison for abusing her great-nephew. A judge followed the jury's recommendation and sentenced Sharon Smith to three 40-year terms that will run concurrently. The judge also ordered Smith to pay a $5,000 fine.

Smith was found guilty in June for handcuffing and withholding food from her great-nephew, who is now six years-old. The child weighed only 25 pounds when he was taken from her home about two years ago.

Melanie Smith, the boy's mother, is serving a 16 year sentence for child neglect.
