(Lubbock, Texas-AP) -- A week after Texas Tech recorded its third shutout of the season, the highly regarded Red Raider defense will be strongly tested.

The Tech defense leads the nation with three shutouts, and has scored six touchdowns, including three last week in a 58-to-nothing romp over Oklahoma State.

This week Tech faces top-ranked Oklahoma and a Sooner offense that's averaged more than 40 points per game this season.

Head coach Mike Leach should be familiar with the O-U offense. The first-year Red Raider coach was Oklahoma's offensive coordinator last season.

Leach says he's excited about his team's chances, saying they played their best game so far against O-S-U and are still improving.
