3 People Hospitalized After String Of Shootings In Tulsa

Three people are in the hospital after a series of shootings that all took place in the same area and hours apart from one another. Tulsa police officers said they don't have a lot of information about the possible suspects.

"All we have to go on is, once the vehicle showed up to the QuikTrip, we rendered aid to the victim at that time," Tulsa Police Department lieutenant Andrew Weeden said.  

Weeden said the first gunshot victim was inside a car driving on North Utica around 10:30 p.m. Sunday when someone fired bullets at the car. The driver went to a nearby gas station at the intersection of Pine and Peoria for help. 

"They found one female victim with multiple gunshot wounds to her legs,” Weeden said. “She was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”

A couple of hours later, Weeden said someone called 911 after a man was shot in the wrist at Franklin Park. After he was shot, officers said he went to a house nearby for help.

Police went to the park to investigate and found people setting off fireworks. That's when officers heard more gunshots. 

"They did hear rounds being fired and a round struck the vicinity of an officer's leg and another round hit the windshield of a marked police car," said Lt. Weeden.

According to Weeden, no one was hit by a bullet, but officers don't know who shot at them. Officers said there was a fourth shooting, but they don't know where it happened.

Police found the victim at the same gas station near Pine and Peoria where the first victim called them. 

"Once he showed up to the QuikTrip, he collapsed inside,” Weeden said. “He had one gunshot wound in the abdomen.”
