Two men are behind bars in Creek County, accused of robbing employees at a donut shop.

Police say the suspects' distinct shoes played a big role in getting them caught in less than four hours.

They also credit employees at nearby businesses for their help.

The owner says he was sitting inside when the two men came in and one of the men even fired a shot at the floor right beside him.

He said he's thankful no one was hurt.

"If someone is willing to fire a gun during a robbery, obviously they may be willing to do a lot more which is very concerning,” said Sapulpa Police Captain Troy Foreman. “We wanted to get these people off the street."

Captain Troy Foreman says the owner of S&H Donuts called 911 last Tuesday, after being robbed at gunpoint.

Surveillance video shows Don Jackson and Kareem Brown walking into the store, wearing masks and carrying guns.

The men got away with cash, a coin tray from the register and a bag.

Captain Foreman says when officers watched the video, they were immediately drawn to the suspect's feet.

"That's what this kind of came down to at the end was distinctive shoes and a distinctive gun,” said Foreman.

Officers went to nearby businesses to try to figure out where the suspects went and showed pictures of the suspect's car and their shoes.

“A couple of hours later one of the businesses spotted the suspect vehicle and called it in and said hey I think I just spotted it,” said Foreman.

Officers then pulled Jackson and Brown over for a traffic stop.

They found the guns, cash, bag and coin tray in the car and the suspects were wearing the same shoes as in the video.

They say this quick arrest wouldn't have been possible without help from the community.

"This was one of those times where everything really fell into place. We did have the public's assistance with talking to businesses but at the same time we got them apprehended in three or four hours that day,” said Foreman.

Both Jackson and Brown were booked into Creek County Jail for first-degree robbery and concealing stolen property.
