A trooper is injured after crashing in Muskogee County. His patrol car landed upside-down in several feet of water.

It happened Monday afternoon near Highway 16 and 100th Street North between Okay and Wagoner, OHP said.

The trooper was on his way to a wreck when he hydroplaned and his patrol car rolled, OHP said.

His car landed in a drainage ditch with three feet of water in it, but the trooper got out OK.

"A vehicle upside-down in water is dangerous even before a crash. So, with the crash and with the water, it became a really life-threatening situation," Trooper Eric Foster with OHP said.

The trooper is expected to recover.
