Tulsa Mom Cheering For Son At The Super Bowl

TULSA, OK -- New Orleans Saints wide receiver Robert Meachem will have a "Tulsa entourage" cheering him on at Super Bowl Sunday in Miami.
Almost 20 friends and family members are in Miami and none of them are looking forward to the game against the Colts, more than his mother.
"This one is his first NFL touchdown," said Beverly Meachem.
For a while there, Beverly Meachem wondered when that first touchdown would come and so did frustrated Saints fans.
Robert Meachem was a first round draft pick out of the University of Tennessee in 2007.
He arrived at training camp with a sore knee and didn't play in a single game his rookie year.
"He wasn't ready for it. He thought it was the same thing as college and there's a big difference and he had to learn that," said Beverly Meachem.
In his third NFL season, the former Booker T. Washington standout broke out -- finishing the regular season with 45 catches and 9 touchdowns for the NFL's top-ranked offense.
"It was his third year at Washington, Booker T., it's his third year at Tennessee and now his third year at New Orleans," said Beverly Meachem.
Of course, mom never forgot.
"I'm his Mom, so of course I thought he was good. He started out when he was four," said Beverly Meachem.
Beverly was at the NFC championship game in the Superdome and is in Miami for Sunday's big game.
When asked about her dream scenario, Beverly says she wants a win, thanks in part to her son.
"We gonna win and my son is going to have at least two touchdowns," Beverly Meachem said.
The Super Bowl kicks off Sunday at 5:20 p.m. on CBS.
