After a rain storm in Waco, Texas Saturday forced a double-header Sunday, with the Baylor Bears topping ORU 3-2 and 8-1 to pull off the season-opening series sweep.

In the opening game, ORU scored the game's first run, thanks to an RBI single from Brandon King to score Nate Goro from third and take a 1-0 lead. Baylor responded in the next half-inning with a rare double-play RBI to bring Adam Toth home from third to tie the game.

Oral Roberts retook the lead in the top of the fourth, thanks to a Tyler Coker sacrifice fly to left field to bring Jake O'Brien home and move ahead 2-1. However, the Bears once again answered with back-to-back doubles from Josh Ludy and Logan Vick.

The Bears took the lead once again in the bottom of the eighth with four straight walks, capitalizing on the Golden Eagles' pitching stumbles.

The second game was dominated by the Baylor pitching staff, including a solid five-inning outing from sophomore Brad Kuntz. The right-handed pitcher went five complete innings for the Bears, striking out five, giving up just two hits and one earned run – the only run coming on a fielder's choice RBI in the top of the fourth.

Baylor did the majority of its scoring the third and fourth innings, cruising to a win.

With two on and two out in the top of the fifth, Max Muncy singled down the right field line, bringing Adam Thoth home from third. Josh Ludy followed with a two-run double to left field to bring home Muncy and Cal Towey to take a 3-0 advantage.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, leading 3-1, Lawton Langford doubled down the left field line to bring Michael Howard home from third and push the lead back to three runs. Three at-bats later with the bases loaded, Towey grounded out to third base to bring Langford home, followed by a two-run double from Muncy to take a 7-1 lead.

The Golden Eagles will return home for their home opener Tuesday against the Wichita State Shockers, the first of an eight-game home stand for Oral Roberts.
