Tulsa Police arrested a man charged with the death of a north Tulsa community leader Monday afternoon.
According to court documents, Shalake Reed, 44, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup on December 29, 2013 when he struck Eric Rollerson, 74, who was crossing the street in the 5400 block of North Lewis.
Tulsa Police said Reed's pickup then hit a utility pole.
Rollerson died a few hours later. He was well known in north Tulsa as an activist and family man. He was also the first black to run for Tulsa mayor and was CEO of a non-profit foundation.
