Tulsa Man Offered Plea Deal In Fatal Grand Lake Boat Crash
DELAWARE COUNTY, Oklahoma - A Tulsa man charged with two counts of manslaughter in a deadly Grand Lake boat crash has been offered a plea deal.
John DeSelms was driving a ski boat that crashed into a docked house boat in May of 2013. Two of his friends, Trey Varner and Rachel Swetnam, were riding in the front of the ski boat and were killed.
Delaware County assistant district attorney Kenneth Wright says prosecutors have offered DeSelms a plea deal. Wright wouldn't not give details of the deal, and won't know whether DeSelms accepts it until the next scheduled court date, August 20th.
The Tulsa man had a blood alcohol content of .18, more than two times the legal limit.
