TULSA, Oklahoma - The driver of a Chevy Cruze wasn't hurt when a piece of metal fell off a truck and crashed through her car's windshield Thursday morning.

Trooper Brandon Grove said the incident occurred in the westbound lanes of Interstate 244 just west of Delaware. The aluminum beam narrowly missed the driver's head.

No one at the scene could tell what the piece of metal had been designed to be. It had a rectangular cross section and was about five feet long. It appeared to have been run over before it hit the windshield, where about four inches of it crashed through the glass right in front of the driver's face.

Trooper Grove said the driver, a young woman, could not provide a good description of the truck.

Her car had to be towed. Her mother picked her up at the scene.
