TULSA, Oklahoma - A big day for a big guy is fast approaching. Tulsa landmark The Golden Driller turns 50 this year, and the party is Saturday.

Tulsa's Golden Driller is an unofficial member of most Green Country families, so don't let him celebrate alone.

Help him celebrate at the Fairgrounds starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 9. Midlife Crisis will perform at the party which will set up at the Driller's large shoes (size 393DDD, according to the folks at the Tulsa State Fair.

"We'll be celebrating a big birthday for the big guy," said County Commissioner Karen Keith.

There is a $50 fee for the dance and band with proceeds to benefit the United Way.

At 8:30 p.m., there will be an open ceremony unveiling new lights for the big golden man.
