A couple of Oklahoma veterans are getting recognition for their service decades ago.
Thursday, Congressman Markwayne Mullin presented two men with military medals at the USS Batfish in Muskogee.
World War II veteran Earl Ginn was honored with a Purple Heart, and Vietnam veteran Paul Butler received a Bronze Star.
"We'd been chasing these medals for my whole life, practically, since I got out of the Army,” Butler said. “Lost records, the medals and everything, everything just kind of got lost."
The congressman also presented two flags at Thursday's ceremony, one to Nick Guargliardo for his work to get the Batfish to Muskogee, and the other flag will replace one at the memorial that was damaged during a July storm.
