TULSA, Oklahoma - Nearly one year after Felicia Jones was stabbed to death in her apartment her family says they feel a sense of relief now that Beverly Nichols is in jail.

"I'm happy that they finally got her off the streets," said Felicia’s daughter Shamicka Jones.

The Tulsa Police lab tested evidence gathered at the scene and after a thorough review, the district attorney's office issued a warrant for Nichols just a few days ago.

"We all suspected it was her. But we just didn't have the proof," said Shamicka. The family says Nichols knew Felicia well and even went to church with her.

"She knew basically my whole family. Kids, everybody," said Shamicka.

But she still has no idea what led to her mom's death. Even though an arrest has been made Shamicka says it's only the beginning of a long road ahead for justice. She plans to be at every court appearance going forward.

Felicia's family says she was known for making the best fried chicken, going to church, and helping those around her.

"She was just a caring person. Everybody loved her," said Shamicka.

Police say thanks to tips coming in through Crime Stoppers they were able to track down the suspect. Beverly Nichols is in jail in Little Rock, Arkansas right now. Police say she'll be back in Tulsa next week.
