TULSA, Oklahoma - A Tulsa man and wife, along with their three children are counting their blessings after a fire early Tuesday destroyed a room in their home. 

Shortly after 1 a.m., Tulsa firefighters were called to the home in the 1300 block of West Newton.  They say the family came home to find smoke coming from inside the home.  They went inside and found a fire in a room with a chimney.

Firefighters took about 15 minutes to put the fire out and save the family's dog and cat.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
