Wagoner Police Arrest Sex Offender Who Failed To Register
WAGONER, Oklahoma - Wagoner Police arrested a sex offender Tuesday who they say moved to Oklahoma and failed to register.
Wagoner Police say Terry Moore had been staying in Wagoner since May but he did not properly check in with police. Detectives say he was convicted of lewd and indecent acts on a child in 2000 in Bedford, Texas which is just outside of Dallas.
It's not clear how long Moore has been in Oklahoma, but detectives say he was also arrested in Mayes County for failure to register in 2015. Lieutenant Ben Blair says he wants this arrest to serve as a lesson to other sex offenders to obey the law.
"The offenders that live inside our jurisdiction know that we are not here to be your friend, we are not here to play games. We will be nice to you, but we are going to enforce the law," said Blair.
Police say there are four sex offenders in the City of Wagoner.
