Deputies Use Stop Sticks To End High-Speed Tulsa County Chase

Deputies used stop sticks to end a high-speed chase in east Tulsa early Thursday and arrested the driver.

Tulsa County Sheriff's Office Captain John Bryant says it began on Highway 75 north of Tulsa when a deputy attempted to stop a southbound car at about 3 a.m.

Captain Bryant says speeds during the pursuit reached 120 miles per hour.  

The chase went east on Highway 11 where a deputy used stop sticks to flatten the car's tires at the I-244 interchange.

Deputies arrested the driver, 46-year-old Keith Lewis. They questioned two passengers, a man and a woman, and released them.

Inside the car, deputies found a large quantity of drug paraphernalia as well as purses, cell phones, bayonets and a bullet-proof vest.

Deputies says they are still looking for a woman who ran off after the chase ended.
