The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says it is investing in a new safety program aimed at making Oklahoma's two-lane highways safer.

ODOT says center line rumble strips cause vibrations, making a noise that alerts drivers if they have crossed the center line.

Similar to shoulder rumble strips, the department has awarded more than $2 million worth of projects in the current fiscal year to install these new strips statewide.
