The Humane Society of Tulsa has a new shipment of pets from Houston early Friday after a special call from a country superstar.
Miranda Lambert called the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office Thursday saying her foundation, Mutt Nation, needed help getting another load of animals to the Humane Society's shelter in Bixby.
The sheriff's office responded and met the truck with about 15 people to help unload the pets.
"She asked if we would be willing to send a few people. She said they needed maybe 3 or 4 people tops. When we explained what it was about, we had about 11 people from the office and four others show up ready to help," said TCSO's Casey Roebuck
Lambert's foundation is moving sheltered pets out of Houston so they have room for pets who are rescued during the floods.
