Oklahoma college sports programs like ORU are answering a challenge from University of Houston's basketball coach to send clothing to help Harvey's victims.

In Tulsa, Oral Roberts University's basketball coach Paul Mills says the flooding in south Texas hit home for him.

Houston Coach Kelvin Sampson posted on social media, asking athletic programs to send 20 shirts and 10 pairs of shoes.

ORU, TU and OSU are just some of the schools who have already pledged their help.

ORU coach Paul Mills says he's a Houston native and coached seven years of high school and college ball there. He said he felt helpless after finding out his hometown was hit by the hurricane.

He responded to Sampson's tweet and started getting stuff together to send.

"More than 70 percent of my life was spent there and so, I've driven those streets. I've walked those streets," said Coach Paul Mills, ORU Mens Basketball.

Coach Mills says his team is hoping to find other ways to help victims in south Texas.
