Owasso Police K9 Officer Beny Dies

The Owasso Police Department says long time K9 officer "Beny" died Saturday morning.

Police say Beny was paired with Officer Bobby Sordo and worked for the department for over ten years.

In a statement on their Facebook page, police said Officer Beny touched "the lives of residents, children and of course our Police."

He was escorted to a local animal hospital Saturday.  Police said Officer Beny suffered from some medical complications.

A service honoring Officer Beny will be announced at a later date.
