We are monitoring the risk for strong to severe storms through the afternoon and evening across eastern Oklahoma.
Earlier showers and storms have lowered the risk in some spots but there is still time for the atmosphere to re-charge. Far eastern and southeastern Oklahoma as well as north central are locations we’ll be watching closely.
Strong to severe storms in central Texas will try to move northeast into southern Oklahoma. Several of these storms have been or are currently severe. All modes of severe will be possible this afternoon and evening. The tornado threat is low with higher potential for large hail and damaging winds. Along with our chances for severe storms, a flash flooding threat remains with heavy rainfall possible.
This system will move out early Saturday morning and leave us with a cool but damp Saturday afternoon. Sunday looks pleasant and we’ll have a few days of quiet weather until another storm system moves in late Monday into Tuesday.
