Sequoyah County Deputies Find 25 Pounds of Marijuana Hidden In Car

Deputies arrested a Michigan man after a K9 deputy found 25 pounds of marijuana inside his car on Wednesday.

Sequoyah County Sheriff Ron Lockhart told KFSM, the CBS affiliate in Fort Smith, Grant Kanouse, 55, from Sturgis, Michigan was stopped for speeding near Vian.

The K9 officer alerted deputies to check the vehicle and after they were given permission to search the car, deputies discovered several bags of high-grade marijuana, according to Sheriff Lockhart.

Kanouse was arrested and booked into the Sequoyah County Jail.
