The third annual Mutt Street will start at 9 a.m. October 22 at Hunter Park, 5804 East 91st Street. The event will raise awareness of Oklahoma's first kennel in a domestic violence shelter.

The .9 mile walk will benefit DVIS' new kennel. People who need help in a domestic violence situation often have animals that need a place to stay as well.

Entry for the Mutt Strut is a donation to the kennel - like pet carriers, flea and tick prevention medicine, deworming medication, poop bags, potty pads, food for dogs with sensitive skin or stomachs, pet first aid kits and cleaning supplies.

Dress your dog in his or her finest costume, and they could earn the King or Queen crown at the event. You can register here or just show up.
